It can be hard to get kindergarteners excited about writing projects; they are still learning proper handwriting skills and have a hard time focusing for more than 10 minutes. But I have the perfect thing for you!

These kindergarten procedure writing prompts are simple to use and will engage your students in a writing task. There is a year’s worth of student-friendly writing prompts, and some are holiday-themed too!

When I created these procedure writing prompts and worksheets, I made sure that there were lots of options. Some prompts are easier, and others are less scaffolded. All have dotted writing lines for little learners to improve their handwriting.

Each prompt has a box for illustrations or something for students to color in.

2.) First, Then, Next, Last’ sentence starters with pictures of steps

3.) List of Materials and Numbered Steps

4.) Plain Lined Writing Page
